2005 Rally in the Valley Tournament |

In 2005 SWAT sponsored the 8th annual Rally in the Valley Junior Tournament for players ages 8-18. There were 49 juniors who entered the tournament, a record number. The tournament was held on Labor Day weekend: September 4-5. Singles play was held in these divisions:Girls 12 & Under, Boys 12 & Under, Boys 14 & Under, Girls 14 & Under, Boys 16 & Under, Girls 16 & Under, Boys 18 & Under, and Girls 18 & Under. Doubles play was held in Girls 14 & Under, Boys 18 & Under, and Girls 18 & Under. Play was held at the Stewart Middle School courts. The weather was beautiful for the entire tournament and drew a large crowd of parents and fans. Players and parents/fans all demonstrated great sportsmanship. The tournament included many excellent matches. In singles, Sarah Grace McCormick (Girls 12), Megan Hunter (Girls 14), Lyndy Amato (Girls 18), Christophe Langouet (Boys 12), John Miller (Boys 14), and Brendon Sudol (Boys 18) won their first Rally in the Valley titles while Suzanne Sandridge defended her Girls 16 crown. Spencer Sandridge, who won the Boys 14 title in 2004, moved up to the Boys 16 crown this year. In doubles, the matches were exceptionally close including one three hour marathon in the Girls 14s involving Delaney & Kelsey Westwood against Sarah Grace McCormick and Jessica Miller. |

of the
American Red Cross, on behalf of SWAT. The proceeds of the
