Rally in the Valley Tournament
SWAT annually sponsors the Rally in the Valley Junior Tournament for players ages 8-18. The 2010 tournament will held from August 12 through August 15. Singles play is held in these divisions: Boys 12 & Under, Girls 12 & Under, Boys 14 & Under, Girls 14 & Under, Boys 16 & Under, Girls 16 & Under, Boys 18 & Under, and Girls 18 & Under. Doubles play is held in Boys 14 & Under, Girls 14 & Under, Boys 18 & Under, and Girls 18 & Under. Play is held at the Stewart Middle School courts. The tournament is not a USTA sanctioned tournament; players do not have to be USTA members in order to play. The entry deadline is August 12.
All participants receive a SWAT t-shirt. Entry fees are $15 for singles and $10 per player for doubles. Players may play in up to 2 events. The tournament director is John Spotts. You may e-mail him at spottsfarm@yahoo.com
To get to Stewart Middle School from the Harrisonburg
area,
take I-81 south to Exit 235 (Weyers Cave). Go south on US 11
for
approximately 5 miles until you get to the stop light in Fort
Defiance. Turn right at the light. In 0.5 mile you
will see
Stewart Middle School on your left; the courts are at the back of the
school.
To get to Stewart Middle School from the Staunton area,
take
US 11
north through Verona. In approximately four miles you will
get to
the stop light in Fort Defiance. Turn left at the
light. In
0.5 mile you will see Stewart Middle School on your left; the courts
are at the back of the school.
