Century Tournament

The Century Tournament is a fun doubles tournament sponsored by SWAT in which the sum of the ages of the partners must be at least 100. Play is held in mens, womens, and mixed doubles. The 2010 Century Tournament was played on May 19-23. A new division was added this year--Century Plus where the combined ages must be at least 125. The 2010 Century Tournament was sponsored by Augusta Health Lifetime Fitness and SWAT.

2010 Results

The 2010 Century Tournament winners were as follows:

Men's Century (ages > 100) Doubles:

Consolation Match: John Egnor & Rob Cale defeated David Hearl & Kevin Hearl 6-2, 6-1

Championship: Craig Westwood & Bill Story defeated Paul Cline and Glen Deputy, 7-5, 6-4

Men's Century Plus (ages > 125) Doubles:

Consolation Match: Scott Hardin & John Jankowski defeated Jim Hutcherson & Ed Pluckett 6-1, 6-2

Championship: Brandon Collins & Steve Jackson defeated Don Kersch Rick Moran 6-1, 6-1

Womens Century (ages > 100) Doubles:

Championship (round robin play): Bev Coffman & Peggy McFarland defeated Leslie Hock and Tricia Opie 6-1, 6-2

Womens Century Plus (ages > 125) Doubles:

Championship (round robin play): Hulda Heatwole and Margaret Fitzgerald defeated Kit Carter and Pat Austin 7-5, 6-1 in round robin play

Mixed Century (ages > 100) Doubles:

Consolation Match: Leslie Hock & Ken Pitkin defeated Debbie Gordon & John Jankowski 7-5, 5-7, 10-8

Championship: Beth Potts & Al Hite defeated Dawn Rhodus & Tom Erskine 6-0 6-4

Mixed Century Plus (ages > 125) Doubles:

Championship (round robin): Brandon Collins & Peggy McFarland defeated Sue McCoy and Jerry McCoy 6-3, 6-3

The 2010 Century Tournament Champions are pictured above: Bev Coffman and Peggy McFarland won the Women's Championship while Paul Cline and Craig Westwood were the Men's Champions.
