2005 Results

SWAT’s annual American Cancer Society (ACS) Tennis Tournament was held Oct. 7 -9 at AMC in conjunction with a racquetball tournament, a 5K race, a player and sponsor reception with a silent auction and an exhibition match with members of the nationally ranked UVA’s men’s tennis team. Sponsors for “Competing for a Cure -2005” included Jim Snead Ford, Augusta Medical Center, Lifetime Fitness Center at AMC, and Davis Professional Tennis.

All proceeds from the events, which totaled $ 5,323.15, went to the local chapter of the ACS.

The picture of the check presentation appeared in the January/February issue of Tennis Pro Magazine, an international publication for the Professional Tennis Registry, which is distributed to over 11,500 tennis instructors and pros in 123 countries.
