American Cancer Society Tournament

SWAT Community Tennis Association  is excited to offer its 9th annual Cancer Tournement in 2010 scheduled for July 17-20. This tournament will be on the newly refurbished tennis courts in Waynesboro at Ridgeview Park. The American Cancer Society Tournament is co-sponsored by SWAT and the local chapter of the American Cancer Society. All proceeds from this tournament go to the Cancer Society. Since 1993, SWAT has contributed over $20,000 to the American Cancer Society through proceeds from this tournament including $3,000 in 2008, $7.400 in 2006, $5,300 in 2005, $1,000 in 2004 and $1,635 in 2003 in memory of former Board member Judy Fisher.

2009 American Cancer Tournament Fund Raiser Results:

Gloria Armentrout SWAT tournament director, is seen presenting a check to Meg Ryan, regional representative of the American Cancer Society.  The proceeds of $3,000, was a result of the Waynesboro/Staunton Florist Cancer Tennis Tournament held recently on the Ridgeview Park Tennis Courts in Waynesboro.
