SWAT Board eeks out tight match over Lexington in October 2008 "Battle of the Boards" |
After the matches, we enjoyed a social with drinks, fruit and snacks that included Ken’s famous sausage rolls! Lexington pulled the same ‘trophy strategy’ that Hardy Dawkins used last year when SWAT lost at Lexington, by conveniently forgetting to bring the trophy to the match. So for the near future, Lexington still has the trophy. Thanks to Chad Reed for setting the courts up for this Battle of the Boards and to the friendly and helpful staff at AMC for making our afternoon very enjoyable.

SWAT Vows
to Recapture the Trophy! Since the match scores were 3-1 in favor of Lexington, we did not have to use the new tie breaker method of counting the total number of games won by each team. Although Ken Pitkin had constructed a very nice new trophy, it did not pass into the hands of our foes yet, as Hardy Dawkins has it in his office to gaze upon.
