2004 was the 58th consecutive year for this tournament. It was held on August 1-7 at the Mary Baldwin and Robert E. Lee High School tennis courts and directed by Jim Kivlighan (adult division) and Chad Reed (junior division). Winners included Jim Hill in the Men's Open, his third consecutive championship, for which he was awarded the Buddy Dey Trophy. Jim defeated Chad Reed 6-2. 6-1 in the finals. He and Chad teamed to win the Men's Doubles with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Stuart Cochran and Kent Carr. The win was also Jim and Chad's third consecutive men's doubles championship. Holly Egnor won the Women's Open with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Debbie Boese and was awarded the Mabel Kivlighan Trophy. The Women's Doubles crown went to Linda Landes and Cindy Ferek who defeated Bev Coffman and Toni Sheets, 4-6, 6-0, 6-2. The Mixed Doubles championship went to Chad Reed and Rebekka Siron, 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 wiinners over Holly and John Egnor. Chad Reed was awarded the Frank Pancake Trophy for accumulating the most points in the tournament. Other winners included: Men's 40 Doubles: Danny Leech and Juan Stella defeated

Boys 12 Singles: Spencer Sandridge The winner of the Jack Holt Sportsmanship Award, which is given annually to a player in the youth division who exibits good sportsmanship in the tournament, was Joe Drauszewski. |
