What is SWAT?
SWAT is an acronym for the Staunton Waynesboro Augusta Tennis Association, a non-profit, 501C3, organization dedicated to promoting the sport of tennis in our area. SWAT sponsors many instructional opportunities for players of all ages as well as tournaments to hone the skills of players. Furthermore, SWAT annually sponsors two $1,000 college scholarships for area high school students. SWAT is a local affiliate of the United States Tennis Association (USTA) and the Virgina Tennis Association (VTA).

SWAT Begins 36th Year of Service in 2010
The Staunton Waynesboro Augusta Tennis Association celebrates its 36th year of service to the community in 2010. Formerly known as the Staunton Tennis Association, it was originally founded by the late Col. Frank Pancake. The organization boasts more than 100 membership families. Its activities are determined by an Executive Board of fifteen area citizens.
Century Tournament Champions Crowned
The 2010 Century Tournament Champions are pictured above: Bev Coffman and Peggy McFarland won the Women's Championship while Bill Story and Craig Westwood were the Men's Champions. For more tournament results, see the Century Tournament link above.
